White Robes = Good Guys!

Jon is right about white vs. black. We switched from black to white Easter Sunday 2006. White is so much better. Here's a picture. I'm on the right.

The PCA in pulpit: some of us dress up like evangelicals in Hawaiian shirts, some in suits and ties like Baptists, and a few in white albs like the Anglicans.

Go figure.

Well, these are not Anglican vestments. There's no white on black. And not to be too picky, but these are not simply "pulpit" robes. They are liturgical robes for leading the entire service, a small part of which is the sermon.

They don't look like Presbyterians to me!

I don't know. Y'all look pretty shady. I bet i look more like a good guy in my Geneva gown than these guys in the white.

Jeff,

Looks great. Where did you get them?

Looks like you guys are wearing regular collars though. No ministerial collar?

Jim Jordan ministered in our pulpit a few weeks ago and he wore white. We just started wearing robes a few months ago and we chose the black robe (we think it makes us look smart). The contrast is stunning when you have the white and black on the platform at the same time.

When you come down in Feb be sure to bring your white robe.

David, actually the collars of our shirts are not visible with these robes. The collar you see is part of the rob itself.

Al: Thanks, I'll be sure to bring it!

I cut my liturgical teeth on Jeff's book, but I have to say, I'm not in with the white robes. I hope you guys don't ditch the black completely.
