Finding a scapegoat, however, will not get anybody anywhere in regards to fixing the crisis. The quality of man’s egoism is the true cause of the crisis and what we need to do is find a way to overcome it.

Michael Laitman explains a process of how to overcome man’s egoism and the crisis. He explains it at http://www.laitman.com/2008/10/what-caused-the-current-financial-crisis/ .Mrs. Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642160024850709040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-8241556234884311212008-10-25T08:00:00.000-05:002008-10-25T08:00:00.000-05:00The recent piece on This American Life (about 3 we...The recent piece on This American Life (about 3 weeks ago) was much better. Card mostly seems to be buying the republican spin on this.

The problem was caused by the banking industry. The legislation which the democrats shot down would have done very little to help the overall situation. It is the nature of politicians to take credit for everything good and blame their political opponents for everything bad.

Apparently Card has been persuaded by the fact that here the republicans are slightly less blameworthy.Garyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12191647599354906514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-5097539597121779472008-10-24T20:52:00.000-05:002008-10-24T20:52:00.000-05:00The following is an interesting read:http://www.fa...The following is an interesting read:
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/who_caused_the_economic_crisis.html
which pushes back somewhat on the idea that the Democrats are completely to blame while excusing the Republicans. I didn't intend to vote this time until McCain picked Palin. Now I will hold my nose and vote Palin/McCain. Does anyone have the bumpersticker for that ticket.JD Lintonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17281103949001850691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-53465244062217927612008-10-22T20:42:00.000-05:002008-10-22T20:42:00.000-05:00Here's an interesting related article which descri...Here's an interesting related article which describes how Bill Frist and other Republicans were successfully lobbied to undermine an effort to reign in Fanny and Freddie.Bobberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15191758379967819106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-6243391607923075892008-10-22T19:20:00.000-05:002008-10-22T19:20:00.000-05:00Ha, Dave. I'm voting for the Constitutional Party candidate who Ron Paul endorsed. I'm through voting for the lesser of two evils. I vote conscience from here on out. I can't stomach the Republican war party any more. Until they get some real conservatives in (like Reagan), I will cast my vote elsewhere.Bobberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15191758379967819106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-75049836943190550382008-10-22T17:00:00.000-05:002008-10-22T17:00:00.000-05:00Sounds like a man on his way to becoming a republi...Sounds like a man on his way to becoming a republican.JD Lintonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17281103949001850691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558461285642691762.post-9337390617793753022008-10-22T15:01:00.000-05:002008-10-22T15:01:00.000-05:00Wow, fantastic post.
